Roseann Kennedy (37) from Shinrone near Birr in Co Offaly was walked down the aisle by her three year old son JJ last December.

Two dreams were fulfilled for Roseann in 2013 when she wed Justin and enjoyed her dream honeymoon to New York, which was made possible thanks to the generosity of her colleagues at the County Arms Hotel in Birr.

Roseann was diagnosed with cancerous tumours in her back and neck in 2012 and despite treatment the cancer spread to her bones. She was bright, bubbly and good humoured as she faced into Christmas with family last December.

Despite her own prognosis, Roseann's primary concern was always for her son JJ. She was extremely thankful to the communities in Birr and Shinrone and staff at the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for their kindness, care and support.

Roseann was laid to rest in Kilcommon Cemetery following funeral mass in St Mary's Church Shinrone on Sunday. She is survived by her husband Justin, son JJ, mother Ann, brothers Joe and Colman and sisters Linda, Stasia, Catherine and Thecla.
