Brady decries Evans' killers

CARDINAL Sean Brady has strongly condemned those responsible for the murder of a young man 30 years ago.

The leading cleric was speaking at the funeral of Gerry Evans (24) at St Patrick's Church, Crossmaglen, Co Armagh, over the weekend.

Mr Evans vanished while hitchhiking from Castleblayney three decades ago, and is believed to have been murdered by the IRA.

The remains of Mr Evans -- one of the so-called 'disappeared' -- were recovered at Carrickrobin in Co Louth, close to the south Armagh border, in October.
