A little boy has died after being accidentally knocked down in the driveway of their farm home.
The boy suffered critical injuries when they were knocked over by a tractor which was apparently reversing out the yard of the property in Killeagh in east Cork.
The accident happened shortly before 1pm.
It is unclear how the child had gotten into the farmyard.
Paramedics raced to the scene and desperately attempted to stabilise the child’s condition in advance of a transfer to Cork University Hospital (CUH).
It is believed the boy is aged under two.
Gardai have described the incident as “a terrible accident.”
Farming neighbours have gathered at the family home to comfort the family following the freak accident.
