Boy admits to assaulting son of councillor
A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has admitted to taking part in a vicious attack on the son of Sinn Fein councillor Maire Devine.
The teenager pleaded guilty at the Dublin Children's Court to assault causing harm to 18-year-old Ruairi Devine who was set on by two people on the South Circular Road, in Dublin, January 26 last.
Judge Ann Ryan was told that it was alleged that the 16-year-old boy and another male attacked Mr Devine.
He was not known to his attackers, said Garda Kevin Lawless who was on patrol at the time and witnessed the assault in progress.
Judge Ryan sought a victim impact report and remanded the teenager on continuing bail. The boy will appear again in four weeks at the same court for sentencing.
