A TEENAGE boy who is suspected to have raped a 14-year-old girl in a van parked outside a busy shopping complex was being questioned by gardai last night.
The youth was arrested in the Newcastle West area of Limerick yesterday morning by officers investigating the sexual assault.
The incident occurred at the car park of the Crescent shopping centre in Limerick on November 25.
It is believed the victim agreed to meet the 17-year-old suspect and had befriended him prior to the alleged incident.
The girl reported the incident to gardai the following day and it was understood she made her statement in the presence of her parents.
