Boy (16) released after garda quiz over attacks

A 16-YEAR-OLD youth was released by gardai last night after being quizzed following a spate of attacks on women, writes Anita Guidera.

The three attacks took place around Ashlawn housing estate, close to the Letterkenny Institute of Technology in Co Donegal, and have created a climate of fear among female students.

Since the attacks the student union bosses have put on buses late at night and have issued students with personal alarms.

The youth was arrested yesterday morning and questioned throughout the day at Letterkenny garda station. He was released without charge and a file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
