'Bonkers' Bannon steals rhetoric from the Romans

Finn Gael's James 'Bonkers' Bannon is known for his colourful oratory.
So it seems appropriate he quoted another great orator during a recent Dail debate.
"The famous Roman statesman and philosopher, Cicero, who lived from 106 BC to 43 BC had his finger on the pulse of good government -- and an apparent insight into the political position in Ireland in 2009." Where was the Longford deputy going with this?
He quoted Cicero's remarks about the need to balance the budget and refill the treasury -- and then brought him into the modern era.
"That man knew what Fianna Fail and the Green Party were about. They are about corruption."
