Body of man (61) discovered lying 'face down' outside community centre

The body of a man in his 60s has been discovered in Ballynacally, Co Clare this morning.

The discovery of the man (61) was made at approximately 9.45 this morning.

The man was discovered lying face down outside the Ballycanally Community Centre.

He is understood to be from the locality and was last seen socialising in a pub last night, RTE reports.

The body has been removed from the scene and has been brought to Limerick Regional Hospital where a post mortem is due to take place this afternoon.

The scene has been preserved and will be examined by the state pathologist.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses or to anyone who may have been in the Ballynacally area between midnight and 9.45am.
