Body of dead man with serious head injuries found in roadside ditch in Connemara
A MAN has been found dead in a roadside ditch in Connemara. A passer-by discovered the body at around 8am this morning in the rural Gaeltacht area near Rossaveal, Co Galway, and alerted local gardai.
It is understood the man had suffered serious head injuries.
Investigators said it is too early to determine the cause of death.
The scene has been sealed off and Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis has been asked to attend.
Forensic experts from the Garda Technical Bureau have also been tasked to the scene.
Gardai in Salthill, Co Galway, are investigating.
"Investigations are ongoing," said a Garda spokesman.
