UP to 60,000 people are expected to visit the popular Bloom festival over the bank holiday weekend.
The gardening festival, which is now in its fourth year, has already drawn large crowds to its 10-acre site, which is twice the size of the Chelsea Flower Show.
The 25 show gardens are the centrepiece of the event, which also features floral displays, gardening and cookery demonstrations and talks, as well as a strong commercial presence.
AA Roadwatch has warned motorists that they should expect heavy traffic around the Phoenix Park during the event which is scheduled to run until Monday evening between 10am and 6pm.
Organisers Bord Bia have laid on courtesy buses between Heuston station and the event to encourage visitors to use public transport.
