Former US president Bill Clinton is to visit Ireland in early March.

He is to be honoured at a special function in Queen's University in Belfast on March 5. The university named their leader institute after the American politician last year.

The William J Clinton Institution was named after Mr Clinton in recognition of his role in the Northern Ireland peace process and he said he was “honoured” by the gesture.

The Clinton Foundation in New York was unable to comment on the rest of Mr Clinton's schedule whilst in Ireland but it's understood that will also visit Dublin during his trip.
