Dublin City Council said 41 stations were out of action late last night and the problem was expected to continue into this morning. A spokesperson said technicians were working to fix the problem.

€38k tobacco haul

MORE THAN 7,000 cigarettes and 77kg of tobacco, worth an estimated €38,000 on the streets, have been seized in Dublin.

Revenue officials seized the items from two separate residences in the north inner city yesterday and last weekend. Revenue said the seizures represent a potential loss to the Exchequer of more than €32,500. Officials said investigations were ongoing.

Hotels 'booked out'

HOTELS across Dublin have been booked out ahead of the All-Ireland GAA football final on September 20.

The number of bookings is reported to have skyrocketed since Kerry got their place in the final last Saturday evening. It has also been attributed to Donegal's win over Dublin on Sunday - with thousands expected to stay overnight in the capital on match day.
