THE country's first regional arts centre, The Belltable in Limerick, is to temporarily close with the loss of five jobs, writes Kathryn Hayes.
Established in 1981, The Belltable played a key role in the development of the visual and performing arts in Limerick.
The board of the Belltable confirmed that from Monday, January 7, 2013, after the current production of 'Jack and the Beanstalk' is concluded, the venue will temporarily close with five members of staff laid off.
According to the statement, the closure will allow for an opportunity to prepare a restructuring plan for the theatre.
