AN overjoyed Batt O'Keeffe walked his daughter Hilda down the aisle as she married fiance Damien Smyth in a church ceremony over the weekend.

The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation was visibly moved as he posed for pictures with the bride and her sisters, Elaine O'Keeffe and Patrice Cahill, outside the Church of Mary and St John in Ballincollig, Co Cork.

Taoiseach Brian Cowen and his wife Mary were also guests at Saturday's ceremony.

The bride wore a classic ivory gown with a long trail and the three bridesmaids wore purple gowns.

The bridal party also included Mr O'Keeffe's only son, Mark, while the youngest member of the party was his granddaughter Leah who acted as a flower girl.

Last year, in the same church, Mr O'Keeffe walked Hilda's sister Patrice down the aisle.

Patrice, who works as a solicitor, married Eoin Cahill in April 2009.
