Banking Inquiry in disarray as members consider new timeline
The Oireachtas Banking Inquiry has once again been thrown into disarray after members agreed to delay the deadline by a another week.
During a late night emergency meeting, the inquiry team agreed on a new deadline of January 27.
Inquiry members believe its completion is still far from certain.
Members held emergency talks last night finally agreeing on the new date in the early hours of this morning.
The draft report into the collapse of the banks has been strongly criticised by members.
It was described as incoherent and confusing by sources who have read it in full.
A source said: "We are facing delays - and delays could be fatal."
