Bailey to learn of extradition fate this week
FORMER freelance journalist Ian Bailey will discover on Thursday if he faces extradition to France over the killing of Sophie Toscan du Plantier (39) in 1996, writes Ralph Riegel.
The Supreme Court is set to deliver its landmark ruling after it reserved its judgement following a three-day extradition hearing last month.
The ruling is set to prove a landmark not only in Irish but in European law.
No one has ever been extradited from Ireland for questioning or possible prosecution to another country for a crime which occurred here.
Mr Bailey (54) -- who has vehemently protested his innocence and claimed efforts were made to frame him for the crime -- will attend the hearing in person alongside his legal team.
