TWO men were bailed yesterday after being charged in connection with the seizure of heroin worth an estimated €2m.
Brian Kavanagh, (26), of Wheatley Hall, Clonee, Co Meath, and Peter Murray (28), of Bellgree Heights, Tyrellstown, Co Dublin, appeared before the District Court.
Both men were charged with possession of heroin and possession with intent to supply.
Up to 12kg of heroin worth more than €2m was seized by gardai in Co Kildare on Tuesday.
Judge Angela Ni Chonduin granted bail to the pair with an independent surety from a third party of €10,000.
Gardai raised no objection to the bail but requested that each of the accused, who had handed over their passports, not apply for duplicate travel documents.
The men must also sign on three times a week at Blanchardstown garda station.
The co-defendants were remanded to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on September 15.
