The phrase ‘Baby killer Out’ was sprayed on the front of Anti-Austerity Alliance TD Mick Barry’s constituency office in Blackpool last night.
Deputy Barry was one of six Anti-Austerity Alliance People Before Profit TDs who wore ‘Repeal’ jumpers in the Dáil on Tuesday as a statement in favour of repealing the 8th Amendment.
Speaking to Independent.ie, Deputy Barry condemned the action as ‘disgraceful’.
“We are campaigning for the repeal of the 8th Amendment and abortion rights for Irish women. We will win this debate on the strength of our arguments and it is interesting that many of our anti-abortion opponents resort to vandalism rather thane engaging in rational debate.”
Deputy Barry confirmed that the incident has been reported to the Gardaí.
