A pipe bomb has been found under a car outside a house in a leafy Dublin suburb.
The Army bomb squad were called out to dismantle the device, left under a 12-year-old BMW in Eglinton Road, Donnybrook, in the early hours of this morning.
The team arrived the scene at 1.25am and had made the area safe by 2.30am.
No controlled explosion was carried out and no-one was injured, the Defence Forces said.
Gardai confirmed they were investigating the incident and that the device had been taken to Cathal Brugha Barracks for further examination.
It was the 200th call-out for the Army's bomb disposal teams this year.
The Defence Forces said it was also the 40th viable device to be made safe.
