Armed men get €15,000 in early morning raid

TWO armed men stole €15,000 during a daring morning raid on a pub. Gardai are hunting for the pair who targeted the Cappagh Nua pub in Finglas, Dublin, yesterday.

The raiders entered the premises at 10.45am.

It is understood that the pub manager was about to take the weekend takings from the business to a nearby bank when one of the culprits approached him from behind.

He was forced to hand over a sum of cash -- understood to be in the region of €15,000.

The incident occurred in a short space of time and the manager was not able to identify who the raiders were.

Gardai believe the two men were armed with a "weapon of some specification".

Investigations are ongoing.
