AN armed man had to be subdued by gardai during a €150,000 drugs bust.
Acting on information, armed detectives swooped on three men as they were handling the drugs at a hiding spot at Lower Kileens, Gurranabraher, near Blarney on the outskirts of Cork city.
The large quantity of heroin is expected to have a street value of €150,000.
As gardai moved in, one of the men was armed and had to be subdued before the arrests were made.
The men, two aged 26 and the other 36, are being held at Cork city garda stations under the Drug Trafficking Act following yesterday's operation.
They can be held for up to seven days.
