Kerryman and former ‘Apprentice’ star Brian Purcell was hardly in his element as he helped judge the style credentials of racegoers at the Listowel Harvest Racing Festival yesterday.

Fortunately top international model Alison Canavan was on hand to judge Ladies Day at the festival.

With a cash prize fund of €5,750 and three new categories including Best Dressed Couple, Jazziest Headpiece and Listowel Races Most Glamorous Young Racer, the competition was fierce.

Top honours went to Brid Hayes from Ballyhahill, Co Limerick, who was crowned Best Dressed Lady at the McElligott’s Honda Ladies Day.

Brid was presented with a cheque for €3,000.

Meanwhile, Nicola Sheahan from Glin was named the Most Glamorous Young Racegoer and Brenda O’Brien, from Milltown, won the Best Headpiece.
