Appeal after cyclist dies

GARDAI are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was found collapsed by the side of the road and later died in hospital.

The 54-year-old man was discovered around 8.45pm in Barnhill Road, Dalkey, Co Dublin, on September 28 last.

It is understood gardai do not believe he was the victim of a hit and run as there were no serious injuries but may have fallen from his bicycle.

Gardai at Dun Laoghaire have appealed for any witnesses who may have seen the man on the Barnhill Road that night or if they were travelling the road between 8.15pm and 8.45pm to contact them on 01 6665000.

He is described as being between 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in in height, thin, with short greying brown hair and clean shaven. He was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a blue jacket and navy Converse runners.
