Apology: Peter O'Reilly

IN an article on alleged fraudster Breifne O'Brien, entitled "O'Brien's scams still ruining lives," featured on October 16, it was stated that Peter O'Reilly "wittingly unleashed an alleged fraudster" on high net worth clients of The Finance Business, a firm of which he was then a director.

This statement contained a typographical error and should instead have read "... unwittingly unleashed an alleged fraudster".

Mr O'Reilly did not, nor would he ever "wittingly" introduce an alleged fraudster to any person. Mr O'Reilly has high ethical and professional standards.

We regret and apologise for the distress caused to Mr O'Reilly and his family by this error.
