AOIBHINN Ni Shuilleabhain has landed on a leading lady list after being named in the top 50 women in science, engineering and maths.

The former Rose of Tralee and girlfriend of 'Late Late Show' host Ryan Tubridy appears on technology news service Silicon Republic's 2014 list of world-leading female academics, communicators and entrepreneurs.

The Mayo-born broadcaster told the Irish Independent she is "over the moon" to feature alongside such prominent figures as cyber psychologist Mary Aiken of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland's Institute of Leadership and media professional Grainne Baron, who heads up video ad-creation tool Viddyad.

"I'm really chuffed about that," she said. The secondary school teacher and Trinity College lecturer is hoping to complete a PhD in Mathematics this September.

Ni Shuilleabhain returned to her teaching roots yesterday at Castle Drimnagh National School in Dublin as part of the school's Discover Primary Science and Maths Award of Science and Maths Excellence involvement.
