CELTIC striker Anthony Stokes has been told by Neil Lennon that he damaged the club’s reputation by attending a memorial service for murdered Real IRA leader Alan Ryan.

When asked yesterday if Celtic had warned Stokes (24) about his behaviour, Lennon said: “Yes we have.

“I am not going to moralise, but you can’t damage the reputation of the club. He is aware of that. The matter is dealt with.”

On the day of Ryan’s funeral, Stokes posted a message on his Twitter account that read: “Thinking of you Alan...”

The striker also threatened to sue a journalist who wrote about Stokes’ links to Ryan.

Ryan used to drink in the Players’ Lounge Bar in Fairview, owned by the footballer’s father.
