Almost 3,500 homes hit by ESB outage
Almost 3,500 households have been left in the dark this evening on one of the spookiest weekends of the year.
A major fault in the ESB network has been affecting homes and businesses in the Lucan and Clondalkin area of Dublin since8.30pm.
The power utility says 3408 customers have been affected by the outage.
A spokesperson for the company said it is working to repair a fault, and that power is expected to be restored to most areas by12am.
"We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault and will restore power as quickly as possible," a spokesperson said.
