All Black gets a rugby lesson from schoolboy
IT'S not always wise to show off to the All Blacks, but for one Irish schoolboy it bagged a close encounter with rugby legend Dan Carter.
Terenure College's rugby-mad George Morgan's cheeky antics online caught the attention of the best No 10 half in the world.
The 12-year-old posted a video on YouTube in April – with the tongue-in-cheek title 'Hey All Blacks Check this Out'.
And a quarter of a million people logged in to see him showing off his skills by accurately drop kicking the ball against a lamppost.
Carter, who is currently out injured but remains on tour with the All Blacks, presented George with a pair of his boots as they came face-to-face at the Castleknock Hotel in Dublin yesterday.
The meeting came about after Carter spotted the online clip, and earlier this year tweeted: "Just got sent this. Future AB??? Actually he is Irish so he might be wearing the Green Jersey one day."
George used his mum's account to send Carter a reply: "Thanks for the tweet love2meet u 23rd Nov here in Ireland."
All Black players and coaches got the chance to check out George's skills on the training ground and were impressed by what they saw. And the team also took time out to visit the Laura Lynn Hospice for Children, with Luke Whitelock among those happily signing autographs for the children and their families.
