Today at around 7.15am gardai received calls about the issue.

The youth was spotted walking along the M11 northbound near Junction 5 Old Connaught Ave.

A spokesperson for AA Roadwatch said: “We think it’s a teenager – the guards rang us to say that there was someone under the age of 18 pushing a bicycle on the motorway, the M11. Gardai will be there any minute.”

“Obviously it’s very dangerous walking on the motorway.”

“Anytime we see this we report on it because it’s really dangerous. And because it’s a person so young we just want to highlight it and really take care.”

“The Gardai got a couple of calls saying that there was a child on the M151.”

The youth has since left the scene.
