THE 1,500 guests who will attend the wedding reception tomorrow of billionaire JP McManus's daughter will enjoy a banquet fit for a queen.
A customised menu drawn up with the help of Buckingham Palace party organisers, which was seen by the Irish Independent, is designed for both male and female guests celebrating the wedding of Sue Ann McManus and Cian Foley from Killorglin, Co Kerry.
Come 8pm tomorrow night, those lucky enough to be seated in the country's largest ever erected marquee in Martinstown, Co Limerick, for one of the social highlights of the year will be whetting their appetites at the assortments placed before them.
With 10 seated at each table and assigned their own waiting staff, the guests will begin the magnificent feast with iced martini shots; vodka and tomato for the gentlemen, and a pear mint concoction for the ladies.
Next up, a fois gras terrine (duck pate) for the men while their companions enjoy a fresh scallop and rocket salad.
For the main course, a fillet of beef is offered to all. The 13oz portion, taken from the carcasses of a black Angus polly herd reared locally in the Golden Vale, is supplemented with side salad and potatoes and vegetables. Not a meat eater? Have no fear, as a vegetarian option along with fish is the alternative.
A bread and butter pudding is the dessert offering for the men while the ladies enjoy a berry tart.
An extensive list of vintage red and white wines are on offer to ensure conversation flows freely.
However, the highlight of the dinner will be the toast to the newly-weds where all will move to a side-tent and clink glasses of Dom Perignon champagne in honour of Cian and Sue Ann.
Some 300 bottles of bubbly at €350 a pop should complement the meal prepared by renowned catering company, Masterchefs Hospitality. Buckingham Palace party organisers Fait Accompli have helped to draw up the lavish menu.
