Air rage librarian faces legal action

A librarian who was at the centre of an air rage incident last weekend is to be sued for tens of thousands of euro after the flight was diverted here.

An Austrian Airlines service, en route from Washington to Vienna, was forced to divert to Shannon Airport, Co Clare, on Saturday.

Harold Albrecht (32) caused a disturbance on board, and three male passengers had to restrain him intermittently over 90 minutes.

Mr Albrecht walked free from court in Ennis on Monday after paying a €400 fine.

Yesterday, Austrian Airlines confirmed that the airline was going to file a complaint.
