Aid workers get an invite to White House
A COUPLE who have spent the past three years working in disaster-hit areas in Haiti and America have been invited to the White House in gratitude to their efforts.
Evert and Kate Bopp, pictured, who live in Portumna, Co Galway, are invited to to the White House to address FEMA, the US government's main disaster management agency.
The invitation came after the IT infrastructure organisation they set up helped provide a disaster response in New York after Superstorm Sandy. Their work impressed FEMA to such a degree that it has now invited them to attend a conference in the White House on February 6.
