Last year, Ailish Smith, a mother of three, was awarded damages in a civil action against her father, Gerard Smith.

Smith was jailed for six years, with two suspended, in 2006 when he was convicted of sexually assaulting her.

During the civil proceedings he instructed solicitors to transfer his joint interest in his family home in Santry, Dublin, leaving his wife Catherine Smith with sole interest in it.

This morning, Ailish Smith will ask the courts to set aside the property transfer as part of her bid to force her father to pay his debt.
