THE man who was seen being attacked and bundled into a 4x4 earlier this week has insisted that he was not kidnapped.
Richard O'Donovan has claimed he was not abducted from near his home in Virginia, Co Cavan, on Tuesday afternoon.
Speaking to 'The Star' newspaper yesterday, he insisted that he had simply fallen over - and that was why his arm was broken.
Mr O'Donovan, who was released from hospital yesterday, has yet to make a statement to gardai.
Officers continue to investigate the motive for the businessman's disappearance but are satisfied it was organised by a gang involved in serious crime.
They think Mr O'Donovan had fallen foul of associates of criminals and that the abduction was linked to that row rather than connected to a personal issue.
