A recent Lotto winner? Mystery man threw banknotes to members of the public in shopping centre
It was raining money at a Northern Ireland shopping centre this week as a mystery man threw banknotes to members of the public.
It happened at Foyleside shopping centre in Derry on Tuesday just before 5pm.
Police were alerted to reports of a man throwing money over the banister. Officers investigated the incident and the money was examined.
A spokesperson said the money was genuine and no crime was found to have been committed.
The identity of the man and his motives remain unclear at this stage.
Foyleside Shopping Centre had no staff available for comment.
The Derry Journal reported that the man threw £10 and £20 notes from the first floor on to shoppers below.
