SIXTH class pupil Conor Powderly and his classmate Tara Farnan will both celebrate turning 12 tomorrow on the 12th day of the 12th month, 2012.
And to celebrate their unusual birthdays, their classmates from Scoil Cholmcille in Skryne, Co Meath, will be throwing them a special class party to celebrate all things to do with the number 12 – except perhaps a reading from William Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night' or a screening of '12 Angry Men' or 'The Dirty Dozen'.
But there will be a dozen balloons and a cake adorned with the number of the day.
Afterwards, the two classmates will attend their own 12/12/12 birthday celebrations to mark the unique day that won't roll around again for another century.
Tara said she was delighted to have her birthday fall on such a magical number, even though her favourite number was actually eight.
Conor will also be proudly sporting a special 12/12/12 T-shirt he was given as a birthday gift, while his parents Ricky Powderly and Teresa Maguire conjure up more than a dozen ways to celebrate his birthday.
The rare date is recognised as World Interconnectedness Day.
