A cause worth every penny

PENNY farthings are optional for a leisurely bike ride this Sunday in aid of suicide prevention charity Console.

Veteran actor John Kavanagh got up on his high bike yesterday to call Irish cyclists to get pedalling this Sunday in aid of Console's nationwide suicide prevention and bereavement services.

Mr Kavanagh and Dublin Lord Mayor Andrew Montague will be among those taking a leisurely Sunday morning cycle at 10am from the Grand Canal Theatre to The 12th Lock in Lucan and back to help raise much-needed funds for the charity. They will be joined on the day by special guests Mundy, Pat Kenny, Eamon Coughlan, Stephen Roche, Karl Henry and Derry Clarke.

Registration begins at 8.45am at the Grand Canal Theatre or interested people can register online beforehand at console.ie.
