THE Office of Public Works is to spend €92,000 fixing potholes in Dublin's Phoenix Park so the British monarch can avoid a journey on pockmarked roads, writes Paul Melia.
The money is being spent on Chesterfield Avenue which is used by an estimated 30,000 commuters every day.
The urgent works begin on Monday and will last for eight days.
