ALMOST nine in 10 students favour allowing abortion in Ireland, according to a new survey.

Nearly half of them, 40pc, want it available on demand, but 48pc say it should be permitted only in certain medical circumstances.

Only 6pc of students said abortion should not be allowed in Ireland, while 7pc of respondents said they did not know, according to the nationwide survey of 4,000 students by the campus.ie website.
