€750,000 worth of cannabis plants seized in garda raid

GARDAI have seized €750,000 worth of cannabis plants in a raid on a warehouse in Co Meath.

As part of on-going intelligence-led operations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Dublin and Meath areas, gardai arrested one man as part of the seizure.

Gardai from  Ashbourne assisted by the Eastern  Regional Support Unit (RSU) conducted a planned search of a warehouse near Ashbourne, Co. Meath this morning.

During the search cannabis plants  with an estimated street value of up to €750,000 were discovered in what has been described as an 'elaborate' grow house.

The man arrested is aged in his late 40s and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Kells Garda Station.
