410,000 cigarettes seized at Dublin Port
Customs officials at Dublin Port today seized 410,000 cigarettes.
The Regal brand cigarettes were found when officers detained a Northern Ireland registered commercial vehicle at the port.
The cigarettes had a retail value of €175,000.
This would translate into a potential loss to the exchequer of €137,000.
This latest seizure brings the total number of cigarettes seized to date this year to approximately 77.5m.
These would have a potential retail value of €32.5m.
