€400,000 worth of drugs seized in three separate raids

A man has been arrested by gardai in Co Galway following a drug seizure.

Officers conducted a planned search of a house in the Mountbellew area of Co Galway earlier this afternoon.

During the course of the search Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to €300,000 were seized in what was described as a sophisticated grow house.

Other drug paraphernalia and two firearms were recovered.

One man in his mid 40s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Ballinasloe Garda Station.

 The scene is currently preserved pending a Garda technical examination.

Meanwhile in Co Kildare officers seized €100,000 worth of various drugs during two separate searches yesterday evening.

At a house in Bishopsland, Kildare town cocaine worth €60,000, cannabis herb worth €20,000 and ecstasy tablets worth €10,000 were seized.

A 25-year-old man was arrested and is currently detained at Newbridge Garda Station.

Later that evening a dwelling at Bell Harbour, Monasterevin was searched.

During the course of this search Gardai discovered Cannabis Herb to the value of €10,000.

One man was arrested and is also currently detained at Newbridge Garda Station.
