340 dogs and 11 horses rescued from puppy farm

THE ISPCA has called on the Government to allow it to carry out unannounced inspections of breeding sites after the charity saved 340 dogs in an "unprecedented" rescue mission.

The animals, along with 11 horses, were recovered from a breeding farm in Myshall, Co Carlow, over a nine-day period.

The charity has now issued an emergency appeal for donations as it tries to provide treatment for the emaciated and neglected animals - many of which were suffering with infections and disease.

Visit ispca.ie to donate.
