The widow of slain Garda Tony Golden has paid an emotional tribute to her late husband.

Nicola Golden yesterday presented a €25,867 cheque to the Movember organisation - a charity close to the late garda's heart - at Dundalk Garda Station.

More than 63 frontline emergency workers in Louth took part in this year's Movember fundraising campaign in honour of the brave garda who was killed in Omeath.

Garda Golden was shot dead by Adrian Crevan Mackin when the officer called to his house in response to a domestic disturbance.

He had participated in the Movember fundraiser in recent years and was actively involved in raising money.

An emotional Mrs Golden said a huge amount of money hd been raised in Tony's memory.
