A look at the violent killings in 2010

Jan 9: John Paul Joyce (30), from Coolock, Co Dublin, was kidnapped two days earlier and then shot dead. His body was dumped at Dunbro Lane, Swords.

Jan 10: Brendan Molyneaux (46) and Paddy Mooney (59) shot dead in a flat on Dublin's Pearse Street. Mr Mooney was an innocent victim. A man has been charged.

Jan 16: Warren O'Connor (24) was stabbed after he rushed to help friends in Swords, Co Dublin, who were being disturbed by a noisy house party.

Jan 17: Noel Deans (27), from Greenwood Lawns, Blunden Drive, Coolock, Co Dublin, was shot dead in Priorswood after a night out.

Jan 17: Sean 'Spuddy' Murphy (29) stabbed outside a house in Lattin, Co Tipperary. A man has been charged with assault causing harm.

Jan 20: Gerard 'Topper' Stanton (41) was shot in front of his wife and two children in Cork city.

Jan 28: Loradena Pricajan (36), a Romanian national, was stabbed to death in an apartment at the Irish Management Institute in Dundrum, Co Dublin. Her Romanian boyfriend has been charged.

Feb 1: Ken Fetherston (26) went missing on September 22. Believed to have been murdered in a row over money.

Feb 16: Chris Emmett (21) shot dead while "playing around" with a gun with friends in Clonsilla, Co Dublin. A man has been charged.

Feb 20: Aidan Byrne (33), from St Mary's Mansions in Co Dublin, was shot yards from his aunt's house just off the North Circular Road.

Feb 22: Daniel Tracey (35) shot dead as he delivered bread to a filling station in Limerick. A man has been charged.

Feb 26: Daniel McAnaspie (17) was last seen on this day. His body was discovered in a ditch in May. He had been stabbed six times.

March 21: Seamus McMahon (41) shot dead in Saltown, Dundalk, Co Louth. He was a suspected member of the Provisional IRA and had recently become an enforcer for criminal gangs.

April 2: Toyosi Shittabey (15) died of stab wounds on Good Friday on his way home from the National Aquatic Centre, Co Dublin. Two men have been charged.

April 5: Catherine Smart (57) was found dead in her home in Midleton, Co Cork. A man has been charged with murder.

April 17: Lee McCarthy (25), originally from London, found stabbed to death in a shed behind a Cork house. A man has been charged with murder.

April 17: Ariel Cegielka (30) died after a street incident in Cork. A man has been charged with manslaughter.

April 23: Eamon Dunne (34), 'The Don', from Finglas, Co Dublin, shot dead in Fassaugh House pub, Cabra.

May 31: Lee Slattery (24), found dead in Ballynanty, Co Limerick. Shot in the head in a suspected drug-related murder.

June 4: John O'Brien (22), a settled traveller, found dead in Greystones, Co Wicklow, from serious head injuries. A homeless man has been charged.

June 20: Patrick Murphy (27) was stabbed at a house in The Glen, Co Waterford, while visiting from Dublin. A man has been charged.

June 28: Brothers Paul (35) and Kenneth (32) Corbally, from Ballyfermot, shot dead on Neilstown Road, Co Dublin. They were convicted criminals involved in drugs.

July 9: Colm Owens (34) shot dead in Finglas, Co Dublin. May have been over a personal dispute.

July 13: Stephen Byrne (33) was shot dead on Dublin's Sheriff Street as part of an inner-city feud.

July 19: Krystian Morawski (21), who was Polish, was found stabbed in the heart in the upstairs kitchen of a house at Moorefield Park estate in Newbridge, Co Kildare.

July 22: James Joyce (20) was stabbed in Swords, Co Dublin, as he attempted to break up a row between two other men. A man has been charged.

July 30: Paul Byrne (20) was found in west Wicklow. He had been missing since July 15, 2009, after he got into a car in Tallaght, Co Dublin. Cause of death unknown.

Aug 8: Cyril Moran (60) of River Road, Cartron Point, Co Sligo, died after being beaten in his own home.

Aug 14: Daniel Gaynor (24), of Berryfield Drive, Finglas, was shot dead on St Helena's Road, Finglas, Co Dublin. A man has been charged.

Aug 28: Michaela Davis (12) strangled on the banks of the Royal Canal near her home in Porterstown, Co Dublin. A 19-year-old man has been charged.

Sept 12: Sean Winters (38), of The Links apartments, Portmarnock, Co Dublin, a drug dealer, was shot dead near the local rail station.

Sept 20: Derek McDonagh (28) of Arden View, Tullamore, Co Offaly, was stabbed to death near his home. A man has been charged.

Sept 22: Michael Healy (62), of St Luke's, Co Cork, was found dead in his home. A man has been charged.

Oct 4: Lukasz Rzeszutko (27) was attacked in Newtown Industrial Estate in Coolock, Co Dublin, as he walked to work. He died two days after receiving severe head injuries. A man has been charged.

Oct 6: Johnny Golden (73) suffered a sex assault at his home near Killeshandra, Co Cavan, in September. He died having never regained consciousness.

Oct 27: Robert Ryle (30), from Ballyfermot, died in hospital three days after being shot at Foxdene Park, Clondalkin, Co Dublin -- linked to the Corbally brothers.

Oct 30: Stephen Hanaphy (20), also known as Stephen 'Stomper' Lyndon, from Cromcastle, Coolock, Co Dublin, shot dead in Sliabh Breagh estate in Ardee, Co Louth.

Nov 15: Alicia Brough (20), Sarah Hines (25), Amy Harper (five months) and Reece Harper (3) stabbed to death in Newcastle West, Limerick. A man has been charged.

Nov 15: Zoe Butler (7) and Ella Butler (2), Ballycotton, Co Cork. They were killed by their father who then took his own life.

Nov 23: Glen Murphy (19) and Mark Noonan (23) shot dead just before midnight at Clearwater Shopping Centre, Finglas, Co Dublin.

Dec 2: Paul Harris (33) stabbed outside his mother's house on Cannonbrook Lawn, Lucan, Co Dublin, in a row with a friend. A man has been charged.

Dec 12: Bartkoniej Urbaniak (29), a Polish man, was stabbed after spending a night out with his friends. He died after being brought to the Mater Hospital.

Dec 25: Anna Butautiene (52), originally from Lithuania, died at Station Court Hall, Clonsilla, Co Dublin. A woman has been charged with murder.
