13-year-old boy arrested following city centre assault on man
A THIRTEEN-year-old boy has been arrested after an assault which left a man with head injuries.
The incident occurred close to the Four Courts in Dublin city centre in the early hours of this morning.
It is understood the victim was found at Chancery Place, beside the courts complex, at 7am.
The boy and a 19-year-old male were arrested at the scene and taken to Bridewell Garda Station.
The victim, a male in his twenties, was taken to hospital where he is being treated for head injuries.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A Garda spokesperson said they believed the assault was linked to a previous incident which had occurred several hours beforehand.
“There may have been an earlier incident, and this was the backlash, but there’s no official report on the earlier incident.”
Gardai are preparing a file to be sent to the DPP on the two teenagers.
