€10m flood fund allocated

THE Government yesterday said a €10m fund would be set up to help victims of recent flooding.
Allocation of the funding will be means tested by staff from the Department of Social Protection but details of how to apply for the funding have yet to be worked out.
Meanwhile a hotel forced to close due to the floods is not due to reopen for several more weeks. The ground floor of the Ballsbridge Inn, part of the D4 Hotel group in Dublin, was flooded after the nearby River Dodder burst its banks on October 24.
