100 hotel jobs lost

ABOUT 100 staff of the Isaacs Group hotel chain in Dublin have lost their jobs. The company's owners, managing directors Basil Good and Richard Evans, attended a meeting of creditors on Monday and appointed a liquidator.

In Waterford city it emerged that Honeywell Measurex would axe 32 of its Irish-based positions. The company is shifting the work to Bulgaria.

The popular Cruzzo restaurant in Malahide, Co Dublin, has also closed.
