10 arrested in crime gang raids
Ten men have been arrested in a series of dawn raids targeting organised crime gangs.
A large amount of cash was seized during the operation which spanned five counties across the south of the country.
The suspects, who are aged in their 20s to their late 30s, can be held for up to seven days under tough new anti-gangland laws.
They are being questioned under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
The Criminal Assets Bureau, regional support units and local gardai took part in the raids.
The men are detained at Henry Street, Roxboro Road and Bruff Garda Stations in Limerick, Shannon in Co Clare, Mallow, Co Cork, Nenagh and Clonmel, Co Tipperary, and Dungarvan in Waterford.
