Style Fridays: Princess Style
When listing style icons, Hollywood star turned Princess, Grace Kelly will always top the list.
If you’re a fan of the Princess’ elegant style then you’re in for a treat with the movie staring Nicole Kidman, Grace of Monaco, coming out on the 6th of June. Forgot the reviews, we’ll be watching for the style. With the release of the movie, Newbridge Silverware’s Museum of Style Icons have on display the only two garments owned by the Princess that are know to exist outside the Palace of Monaco.
Princess Grace had a strong connection to Ireland with the links beginning with Grace’s grandfather, John Peter Kelly, who was from Mayo and she visited the country on many different occassions. When she visited in 1961, she appropriately wore a gorgeous green Givenchy-designed sleeveless dress with matching fringed bolero jacket and this outfit is on display at the Museum of Style Icons.
Also on display at the is a Helen Rose designed layered chiffon ball gown, which was worn by Grace Kelly in the film High Society.
